Waitlist
You can add a child to the waitlist for a $25 non-refundable fee.
Submitting a waitlist registration does not guarantee your child a space at the Children's Center.
You will be contacted via e-mail or telephone when we have a space for your child.
Once you have been contacted, the Enrollment Agreement Form will be sent for you to fill out and submit with a two-week deposit, which is when the space will be guaranteed for your child. We cannot guarantee the space until we receive the Enrollment Agreement Form and the deposit.
Typically once you have been notified of an available space for your child, you have 2 weeks to submit the Enrollment Agreement Form and deposit; otherwise the space will be given to the next available child on the waitlist.

Weekly Rates
The Children’s Center is open year-round. Once a child starts at the center, payment is required for every week of care, regardless of attendance, holidays, snow days, or teacher training days.
There is one week of vacation per calendar year, which coincides with the University's holiday shutdown in the last week of December.
Parents/guardians are required to give the UNL Children’s Center a two-week notice upon termination of care.

Full-time care
Full-time care: The child has a space in the classroom and can use this space at any time from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Breakfast, lunch and snack served.
Nebraska Child Care Subsidy
The UNL Children’s Center participates and accepts the Nebraska Child Care Subsidy (Title 20).

Tuition Assistance
Through the generous support of Lincoln Littles the UNL Children’s Center offers tuition assistance for qualifying families. A maximum of $5,000 may be awarded annually for children who meet the following requirements:
- Children between the ages of 6 weeks – 6 years
- Child must be enrolled full-time
- Parents must be either working or attending school
- Families must show a financial need an fall within the set income guidelines (200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines by family size)
- Availability of program funds
- Determination based on family’s monthly gross income (income before taxes, insurance, and any other deductions are subtracted, which includes both earned income (e.g. wages, which must be verified by paystubs) and unearned income (e.g. child care support, Social Security payment, unemployment insurance, etc.). The family income is then comparted to the total number of household members (dependent care – typically parents and their children). If there are two parents in the family, both parents must be participating in one of the activities listed above.
- Once a child of any age is awarded assistance, he/she is eligible to continue to receive assistance for a 12-month period. Families must reapply annually. Assistance may be cancelled earlier if the family is unresponsive to requests for updated activity or if funding should no longer become available.
- Income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline for family size. Household members include all people living in the household, related or not (such as grandparents, other relatives, or friends) who share income and expenses. The applicant must include him/herself and all children who live with him/her. Households do not include other people who are economically independent, such as a roommate.
